SGO Sunday: MASKCARA with Looks by Lisa
GET OUT THERE, GORGEOUS. That's what Founder of @Maskcara Beauty Cara Brook says, believes and lives by. She's beautiful, that's for sure:
She's a dream, right!? But what's most important is that she understands the daily grind of a working woman: She's a mom, a foster mom, a blogger and a working woman to the fullest extent. She's worked with the best in the 'biz and also your average Janes getting by on a black coffee and a dream. She gets that not everyone has a glam team and a whole hour to get ready in the morning before the day begins. Her makeup line is for women who want cruelty free, high quality, clean ingredient makeup that gets the job done in minutes. And that brings me to Lisa: a fellow St. Louis wedding vendor, fabulous business owner (Looks by Lisa) and woman who believes in the natural beauty of all women. Lisa uses Maskcara exclusively to make women feel like their most beautiful selves (and she does a damn good job of it).

"Beautiful before and beautiful after" is Lisa's catchphrase. She may spend most of her weekends glamming up bridal parties sending their bestie down the aisle, but she spent a calm Sunday morning sipping coffee with almond milk and making over my intern Vasilisa during an otherwise hectic wedding season. She showed us the beauty of a 5-minute makeover with Maskcara Beauty and let me tell you, I loved it way more than I expected to. This makeup is perfect for brides - perfect for wedding day, honeymoons and showers -- and me! I'm not a bride, but I'm someone who appreciates a quick glam session at 6 am before my day begins. Who's with me!? I asked Lisa a bit more about why she likes the company. Read on for the dish!
Q: What's so special about Maskcara? A: I think makeup should enhance, not erase, your own true beauty. I think there's so much pressure to be perfect - women seem to feel we are not pretty enough. We're not good enough, we're not thin enough, we are not this, we're not that - and it's just simply not true. Everyone is going to look better with makeup if its applied correctly, but you shouldn't look completely different with makeup on.
Q: Why do you promote Maskcara as a good fit for brides on their wedding day?
A: On your wedding day I don't think you should look completely different. He's marrying you because he loves you and he thinks you're beautiful so don't need to transform yourself into someone completely different. That's the majority of my brides - they want to look beautiful but they still want to look like themselves.

Q: Tell me more about Cara, the Owner and Founder of Maskcara Beauty! What makes you want to sell this line?
A: It's just a really neat group. We have conference calls with Cara weekly and she's just honestly the real deal. She believes in natural beauty and doesn't want to take away from that. The empowerment is so strong, the group is so strong, and I'm proud to be a part of it. I use the makeup myself. I would never tell brides or anyone for that matter to use this makeup if I didn't believe in it!
The most hard-working, fun, fabulous intern there ever was - Vasilisa (who is moving away to New York to pursue event management & modeling)!

You can meet with my gal Lisa for a 5 minute makeover and/or to purchase Maskcara by emailing her at email@example.com! I met with her just for the fun of it and ended up loving the makeup so much I bought a little kit for myself and asked her to collaborate on this blog with me. The best part? The makeup is $12 each and you can build your kit based on your skin type, complexion and tone - throw the super cute compact in your bag when you're running out the door and you're good to go! #GETOUTTHEREGORGEOUS
